Tooth Colored Restorations

A composite restoration is a resin that is bonded to the tooth and used in many applications. Composites can be used as an alternative to amalgams (silver fillings) or veneers. Composites are a lot friendlier to the tooth than amalgam and are more esthetically appealing as well. Composites also are typically a less expensive alternative to veneers for improving the appearance of one’s smile.

  • Ø Procedure (normally one visit)

This is a one visit procedure. The tooth is prepared initially and then cleaned with an etchant gel. We then apply a desensitizer followed by the bonding agent. The composite is then placed into the preparation or onto the surface of the tooth and cured with an ultraviolet light. The composite is now “cured” or set. The restoration is then trimmed and polished. This leaves you with a beautiful, long-lasting tooth colored restoration.
